All’s set with Gujarat Tourism Department where last stages of shooting is scheduled starring Amitabh Bachchan campaigning for Gujarat. Amitabh Bachchan is there to start shooting for the promotion of state in the month of September. This is especially for the Parsi and Sikh communities.
Spanning 20 days, the shooting constitutes the last part of the campaign, which began in the month of May 2010. Involving 17 destinations across three years, this venture is believed to be a "turning point" for the Gujarat Tourism.
According to Mittra, “We roped in Piyush Pandey and Shoojit Sircar for the films. Mr Bachchan travelled hundreds of thousands of kilometers on roads. He worked for free and stayed in circuit houses." Only God knows that Mr Mittra is speaking the truth.
The story does not end here as Ambaji town in North Gujarat is all set to attract replicas of 51 shaktipeeths in India. As according to him, the principal target will be domestic tourists as there is increase in the domestic tourist inflow.
It is good to note that the last two years has shown an increase in the total number of tourists to Gujarat by 54 lakh. In terms of percentage, it amounts to 16 %, doubling the national average.
