There are a lot of sanctuaries in Rajasthan where you can enjoy the wildlife attractions of the state. Many endangered and unique animals can be found here.

1. Ranthambore National Park

Ranthambore National Park is one of the largest national parks in the country. It is one of the important tourist destinations here. It is located in Sawai Madhopur. It was initially developed as a national park for tiger preservation. Later, it was developed into a wildlife sanctuary. You can find a lot of interesting animals like elephant, sambhar, boar, sloth bear, leopard, tiger, chitals, nilgai and many others. You can take jeep safari to scale the whole park. There are more than 500 species of flowering plants in this park. The best season to visit is from October to June.

2. Sariska National Park

This park is located in Alwar. This park has a vegetation of dry deciduous forest, grasses and thorn. This makes it an excellent area for boars, golden jackal, Hanuman langur, four horned antelope, jungle cat, leopard, striped hyena, tiger, nilgai, sambhar, hares, rhesus monkey and many others. This park has numerous royal Bengal tigers and it is very easy to spot one. Jeep safari facilities are also available. You can also enjoy many historic monuments and temples near the park. The best time to visit Sariska is from October to June.

3. Keoladeo Ghana Bird Sanctuary

Keoladeo Ghana Birt Sanctuary is located in Bharatpur. It is a home to numerous migration birds and local birds. There are more than 230 species of migration birds in this park. This is one of the world heritage sites and important tourist destinations. There are a total of 366 bird species, 379 flowering plant species and a few species of animals in this park. This park has been a migration spot for more than 250 years. The best time to visitBharatpur and spot migration birds is from October to February. You can take camel safari or jeep safari. During rainy season, boat safari is also available.

4. Desert National Sanctuary

Desert National Sanctuary is located in Jaisalmer. It is one of the largest parks in the county with more than 20% of sand dunes. The rest of the park is filled with salt lakes, craggy rocks, fixed dunes and small vegetation. This is a perfect example of desert ecosystem. The park is filled with birds like sand grouse, bustard, spotted eagle, falcon, kestrels, vultures, harriers, buzzard and many others. Common animals found here are desert cats, Bengal fox, chinkara, black buck, wolf and hedgehogs.  This park has a collection of animal fossils that are more than 180 million years old. You can enjoy horse safari and jeep safari here. Great Indian Bustard is an icon of this park. The best time to visit this park is between October and February.

5. Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary

Kumbhalgarh wildlife sanctuary is located in Rajsamand district. This park has a lot of critically endangered species like four horned antelopes, jungle cat, sambhar, hyena, leopards, hares and others. Top birds to spot here are peacock, white breasted kingfisher, parakeets, golden oriole, bulbul, pigeons, doves and grey jungle fowl. You can enjoy jeep safari and horse safari here. Asiatic Lion is a new addition to this park. The best time to visit this park is from October to March.
