Nature’s fury cannot be preconceived by the mankind, especially when it becomes too furious to handle. Similar kind of situation was faced by one of the most beautiful places of India, Uttarakhand. As a result, the most sought after Char Dham Yatra was suspended immediately in wake of nature’s onslaught killing many people and making many missing.

Char Dham Yatra
Many became homeless after the vast floods came and swept the entire gamut of highways and roads leading to various temples present in the vicinities of the state. However, amidst so much disturbing news that poured in has come a relieving news stating that Char Dham Yatra sans Kedarnath is to begin again. As it is planned to resume on September 30, 2013, the same has been confirmed by the Uttarakhand Chief Minister.

As of now, efforts are being made to resume the Char Dham Yatra focusing on the roads particularly. A visit to the Kedarnath shrine has been suspended taking into account the serious damage done by the damaging floods. Apart from this, there serious efforts are being made to find alternate roads as well.

This is what Vijay Bahuguna, Chief Minister (CM), Government of Uttarakhand, said, "By September 30, the Yatra (pilgrimage) to Yamunotri, Gangotri and Badrinath will be resumed.”

As far as Kedarnath is concerned, it will take a long time to restore connectivity. As of now, the government's first priority is to repair highways leading to the three shrines.
