1. Ramnagar Ramlila

The Ramayana is a holy epic of the Hindu religion and also of India that depicts the story of truth’s triumph over evil. As per the epic Rama, the prince of Ayodhya; defeated Ravana, King of Lanka and brings back his abducted wife, Sita. The war is also the culmination of atrocities that the Asura clan has been inflicting on the Devas. 
During Ramnagar Ramilila a huge edifice of the Ravana made out of hay and random combustible materials is set to fire to recreate Rama’s dramatic win. The festival is a symbol of the country’s faith in the revival of truth even when the atrocity of evil touches new heights. 2. Navratri

Navratri is the celebration of Goddess Durga is all her divine forms. The Goddess is a symbol of unbound women power and strength that Indian traditions and culture has been celebrating since epochs. The festival features fasting during daytime and feasting during late evenings that culminates with dance recitals that extend long in the night. 
Navratri extends for ten days of celebrations during which golu or display of clay dolls that depicts epics and folklore of the past are displayed. It is a prominent practice in South India where classic music concerts and Bharatanatyam concerts also take centre stage in full glory. Navratri is celebrated in it full vigor in almost states of India. Each state has its own traditions and customs that make it unique yet attractive in its own way.  Head to Varanasi Mysore, Gujarat, Kolkata, Delhi or Mumbai during the last of September and first weeks of October to catch glimpses of live action.


3. Mysore Dusshera

Dusshera is celebrated at its best in Mysore. The royal kinship arrives in all grand entourage with palace staff, and pole bearers atop elephants clad in bright colored adornments. The sight is a must visit for anyone who wants to experience the glory of Indian culture. Mysore Dusshera is celebrated to honor Goddess Chamundeshwari who is said the protector of the state sicne she slayed the demon Mahishasur. 

Mysore is also a splendid tourist destination with a variety of forts, palaces and natural gardens that promise a rejuvenating break from the hustle and bustle of a city life.
