Jagjit Singh passed away in wake of brain hemorrhage which he suffered last month on 23 September. Losing a singer of this stature is not easy to believe. But alas, it has happened. He not only rendered many ghazals during his carrier but exalted the status of ghazal singing right from the outset. It will not be an exaggeration to state that he was not only an excellent performer but a man with sense of expressing every word in ghazal par excellence. He will be remembered throughout for his indomitable task.
As far as this blog is concerned, though it is meant to cater to the tourism industry, losing Jagjit Singh has put everyone in India in a state of shock. In fact, many tourists who came on their India tours experienced the greatest voice of Maestro Jagjit Singh. In fact, he was the person with amazing voice capable of gripping everyone’s attention.
